ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) is a well-researched approach to helping children learn skills that matter — communication, play, social connection, independence — and to reducing behaviors that get in the way of their learning and happiness. It's the most widely studied and evidence-based approach for supporting children with autism.

At its core, ABA is about understanding why a child does what they do, and gently building the skills and supports that help them thrive.

Modern ABA isn't what you might have heard

If you've read older descriptions of ABA — rigid, repetitive, drills at a table — know that the field has grown. Today's best ABA is play-based, child-led, and relationship-first. Good ABA looks like joyful interaction, follows your child's interests, and builds skills inside real moments, not isolated exercises. At Partnership Behavior Group, we blend the science of ABA with developmental, relationship-focused approaches like the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) — so therapy feels natural and connected.

What can ABA help with?

Who provides ABA?

ABA is directed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) — and at PBG, by a doctoral-level BCBA-D — who designs and oversees your child's plan. Day-to-day sessions are delivered by trained behavior technicians, with the clinician guiding progress and coaching your family throughout.
